Community Steps to Independence is a transitional program which offers a variety of experiences to multiply disabled students ages 18-21,
maximizing their exposure to real life situations.
The CSI program incorporates a core curriculum that includes occupational/vocational, personal/social, daily living, technology skills, and community based instruction. Our transition counselor, special education teacher and job coaches assist with community outreach and curriculum implementation. The CSI program is designed to increase self-advocacy, independent living skills, and job readiness skills, with an emphasis on socialization skills.
Hands-on learning and experiential activities assist students with career cluster exploration, job sampling, unpaid, and/or paid internship opportunities.
